A few years ago I made quite a lot of projects, but somehow I kind of lost interest, distracted by so many other crafts. A couple of weeks ago I was rummaging through my stash and came upon a bag containing a 'work in progress'.
After stitching 'Linen and Lace' by 'The drawn thread' in 2007 and 'Toccata number one" by "The drawn tread' in 2008 I had set my mind on 'Toccata number three' , also by 'The drawn thread'.
I actually got the complete kit as a birthday present from my parents.
I enthousasticly started stitching, but soon put it away as I did not have the patience to work on it anylonger. The difficulty in this poject is not only the challenging techniques, but mostly lies in the fabric and silk to carry practically the same colour.
For now, I just pick it up every once in a while during the weekends, to stitch just one block at the time, just when I feel like it...
Onlangs heb ik een oude hobby opgepakt; borduren.
Een paar jaar geleden maakte ik aardig wat werken, maar om de een of andere reden verloor ik de interesse, afgeleid door zoveel ander handwerk. Een paar weken geleden was ik aan het rommelen in mijn voorraad, en kwam toen een tasje met een 'werk in uitvoering' tegen.
Na het maken van 'Linen and Lace' van 'The drawn thread' in 2007 en 'Toccata number one" van "The drawn tread' in 2008, Had ik mijn zinnen gezet op 'Toccata number three' , ook van 'The drawn thread'.
Ik kreeg toen de komplete kit van mijn ouders als verjaardagskado.
Enthousiast begon ik eraan, om het al snel weg te leggen omdat ik het geduld niet meer had er aan te werken. De moeilijkheid in dit project is niet zozeer in de verschillende technieken, maar voornamelijk dat de stof en de zijde zo goed als dezelfde kleur zijn.
Op dit moment pak ik het af en toe op in de weekends, dan borduur ik een blok per keer, als ik zin heb...
